From my family to yours… My new cookbook Family Kitchen
HI, I'm Natasha and I created this website Mumsknowbest.com for all of us to use as a community. I am passionate about cooking from scratch and since starting a family myself I want to cook delicious healthy food for all of us to enjoy. However I get bored of the recipes I make and want inspiration from other mumma's out there too! fffI have written 4 cook books Honestly Healthy, Honestly Healthy for Life, Honestly Healthy Cleanse and Honestly Healthy in a Hurry and when falling pregnant with my little boy Rudy i decided that I wanted to take a break which I did for a year and now this is my new baby! I hope you enjoy using the site as much as I do. test

I couldn’t be prouder or more excited to tell you about my new cookbook FAMILY KITCHEN out on 11th June 2020. To pre-order click here.
This has been in the making since I fell pregnant with Rudy over 3 years ago. From the moment I knew Rudy was in my tummy, my eating habits changed. From the way I cooked to the ingredients I used my recipes became simpler, quicker with fewer ingredients.
From all the wonderful conversations I have had within our community I had a very clear picture of what I wanted to create for this book for you, which is why I have decided to self-publish this time.
One of the main reasons is I wanted to offer the same royalty I would have received from a publisher to a chosen charity which wasn’t possible from the conversations I had with the publishing houses I had meetings with. I am proud to be able to offer 10% of profits to charity in this book. I’m delighted to be working with Fare Share on their incredible mission to fight hunger and reduce food waste. Each book sold will donate 4 meals, with surplus ingredients, to a family in need. I’m so happy to be working with such a meaningful and admirable cause and I can’t thank Fare Share enough for the work they do and for allowing me to support them in this way.
As I mentioned, I am self-publishing this book and I sought finance to help me do this. Taking out a loan is really very scary and can only hope that one person buys it! But I truly believe that you will love it, I have poured my life and soul into these recipes to make your life just a little simpler, tastier and easy around your kitchen table.
There are 100 recipes….
38 recipes under 15 minutes
24 recipes under 30 minutes
31 Traybake & one pots
18 Fish and meat
20 Flexi recipes
30 Weaning friendly
38 Freezer friendly/batch cook
20 Bakes and snacks
They are organised into:
Morning time, 15-minute meals, 30-minute meals, under 60 minutes and snacks and treats with symbols so you can find them easily.
My vision for this book is to be a breath of fresh air for the busy family, one dish feeds all whether you have a fussy eater, weaning child on purees, hungry teenagers or the grandparents over for lunch.
The recipes can be broken down to cater for fussy kids that need hidden veg, to children that like stronger flavours or the parents that want a bit of a kick to their meal at the end of the day. Leftovers at breakfast that can be turned into delicious snacks in just a few easy steps or there are plenty of recipes to batch cook and freeze meals for busy times ahead.
There is something called flexi recipes in the book which are exactly what they say, flexible to use whatever ingredients you have at home or to change the protein to have meat or fish instead of being vegetarian or vise versa. I believe cooking should be what you have at home to make cooking a little more cost-effective.
There are no hard to find ingredients and all recipes can be interchanged to use whichever milk, flour or butter of preference whether you are vegan, have allergies in the family or just a preference. Ingredients in the book can be brought from a co-op!
I have asked a friend and colleague Laura Bond who is a registered nutritional therapist ION for families to write a section in the book to take you through how to support and supplement your family during pregnancy, weaning, early years, teens and on, through the food choices and ingredients you have at home.
I really hope you enjoy these recipes as we have done in our home.
